Getting By

I'm already halfway through my second week of college, and while I was looking through an old notebook of Haiku I found one that I wrote for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I played in with some friends. When I wrote it I made it as kind of a commemorative Haiku to celebrate us actually getting started with the game. It had taken us like 2 months to get it started, and we had a blast playing together. Anyway, here's the Haiku and I hope you all enjoy it.

Seven warriors
Faced with wearisome battle
Banding together

Through perilous fights
Clinging to their hope and light
Fighting for all

Through the countless foes
Through endless dungeons traveled
The heroes fight on

Refusing to fall
Drawing closer together
Sharing their courage

The warriors stand
Bravely facing their terror
Enemies cower

Returning again
The seven worn from battle
Having faced their foes

Triumphant return
Praised as heroes far and wide
What will come after?

As always comments and title suggestions are appreciated. I would also appreciate any comments on the new layout. I decided to change the layout just because I've been using the same layout from when I originally made the page. So hopefully everyone enjoys the new layout, and look forward to future posts to feed your Haiku craving!

School Again

Once again i am back in school, this time starting my 3rd year of college and my last at Bethany Lutheran College. Tonight is the end of my third day of classes and all of them seem to be fairly fun so far, though a little homework intensive. Anyway, the Haiku I have is one that i just wrote the other day with no real inspiration. I just put my pencil to the paper and let the words flow. No title for this one, cause even I am trying to figure exactly what made me write this. Oh well, enjoy.

Why build a wall within you?
What have you to fear?

Tell me your secrets,
Your fears, your hopes, desires,
All you shield from them;

Mine I gave away,
You holding all within you,
But I none of yours;

Let me be your shield,
Your fortress, your comforter,
Let me be but yours;

Naught is left from me,
That is not yours, nothing hides,
Naught is left beside;

Naught I ask but this,
Your trust, your faith, your love,
For that I gave you;

An exchange of hearts,
A priceless treasure kept safe,
In each other's arms.
